Staff Selection Commission Multitasking Staff or SSC MTS exam is a non-technical examination conducted by SSC.
SSC MTS Exam is a national-level examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for selecting candidates in General Central Service Group-C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various ministries, departments and offices of the Government of India. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) Examination to recruit candidates for 9583 non-technical positions in different ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. Every year lakhs of SSC aspirants after completing their 10th class appear for the exam to get shortlisted for the following posts.

MTS Exam Eligibility
The SSC MTS eligibility criteria are the conditions determined by the SSC; which the candidates are required to fulfill mandatorily to be eligible for the SSC Multi Tasking Staff examination.
Candidates willing to appear for SSC MTS examination 2021 must meet the following eligibility requirements:
SSC MTS eligibility in terms of Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India, either/or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugee settled in India before January 1, 1962, or any person of Indian origin.
Candidates are required to present the Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Indian Government (if he/she belongs to a country other than India i.e. Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Pakistan, Burma, etc.)
SSC MTS Age Limit & Relaxation
Candidates who wish to appear for SSC MTS 2020 exam must be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 25 years of age as on August 1, 2020. i.e.
However, for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as PwD, SC/ST and OBC categories, there is an upper age limit relaxation being given by the commission.

MTS Exam Pattern
Candidates willing to appear for SSC MTS recruitment exam must be well versed with the latest exam pattern of SSC MTS.
The SSC MTS exam pattern is decided by the commission itself. Any changes in the exam pattern are intimated to candidates through official notice.
The SSC MTS exam is conducted for two papers – SSC MTS Paper I and SSC MTS Paper-II.

MTS Exam Syllabus
Now that candidates are aware of the SSC MTS Exam Paper Pattern, it is important to understand the SSC MTS Syllabus as well.
The SSC MTS syllabus was amended in the previous notification and the name of the syllabus sections are also changed. The changes were done to accommodate the requirements raised due to the elimination of SSC MTS paper 2. The Commission added various topics in the arithmetic section and added Comprehension in the English section.
The Commission also revised the marking structure of the SSC MTS paper 1 and removed the negative marking from the Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving section. The number of questions was also changed for the Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving section.
SSC MTS notification 2024 revised the exam syllabus and structure of the exam. The SSC MTS paper 1 is conducted online as a Computer-Based Exam (CBE) and the candidates need to check all the details about the exam in the official notification.

The Staff Selection Commission releases the SSC MTS Admit Card one week before the SSC Multi Tasking Staff examination.

MTS Salary
SSC MTS is a Group C non-gazetted, general Central Government service. It is a non-ministerial post with pay band 1(5200 – 20200) + the Grade Pay of 1800 rupees.
The salary of SSC MTS is revised after the 7th Pay Commission application. Currently, the in-hand salary of SSC Multitasking Staff is approximately 18,000/ to 22,000/ per month.
