About JE Exam

RRB JE is a Central Government Examination conducted for filling various vacancies of technical profile in the Indian Railways. The full form of RRB JE is Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer. The official notification for the examination will be released on the official website of RRB http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/.

Candidates from Engineering and Science backgrounds are eligible to apply for the post of RRB JE. Candidates will have to fill the application forms released by RRB to appear in the RRB JE examination.

JE Exam Eligibility

Candidates who desire to apply for RRB JE 2022 will have to fulfill the RRB JE eligibility criteria. The basic eligibility criteria for RRB JE 2022 have been given below.

RRB JE Eligibility: Age Limit

Candidates must fulfill the following age limit criteria to apply for the post of RRB JE.

The minimum or a lower age limit to apply for the post is 18 years, whereas the maximum or upper age limit is 33 years.

JE Exam Pattern

The first phase of the examination will be a Computer-based Test. The total duration for the examination is 1 hour 30 minutes. Students who will qualify for the first phase will appear in CBT-II. Here is the complete RRB JE Exam pattern:

There will be a total of 150 questions
The time duration of the examination is 120 minutes
The total marks for CBT-II will be 150 marks

JE Salary

The initial salary of an RRB JE is INR 35,400. The salary classification for various cities is given below.

JE Exam Result

The results of the candidates will be released on the official website of the Indian Railways. Those candidates who will pass CBT I will be allowed to appear in CBT II.

Q.1 What is the qualification requirement for RRB JE

ANS: Ans. The qualification requirement for RRB JE 2022 is-:

Three years Diploma in Relevant Engineering Stream.
BE/B.Tech in Relevant Engineering Stream.

Q.2 Is RRB JE permanent job?

ANS: After clearing RRB JE, first a candidate will be on probation basis for a period of two years wherein they will be provided with training. After the end of 2 years the probation period will end and the candidate will become a permanent employee.

Q.3 Does a candidate need to clear sectional cut-off for qualifying for the RRB JE 2022 examination?

ANS: VNo, there is nothing like sectional cut-off in RRB-JE 2022 examination. Candidates just have to clear the total cut-off released by the Railway Recruitment Board for passing the examination.

ANS: There are good chances of promotion for RRB JE. The junior engineer is promoted to Senior Section Engineer as per the zonal seniority. The next promotion is in Group B services for which the candidate has to give ‘Limited Departmental Competitive Examination’ for which the candidate must have 5 years of service.
