The Indian Navy is considered to be the most important naval force in the world. The INET exam is one of the best opportunities for students who wish to join the Indian Navy. The examination hires in entry-level job positions. The interested students who wish to serve the Indian Navy must go through the Qualification, vacancies, application form, and other important information.

The examination is of the following three steps.

  1. Written INET examination
  2. SSB Interview
  3. Medical Examination

INET Exam Eligibility

The basic qualification consists of education qualification, nationality, and age limit. Students can apply only for one job profile for which they are qualified, based on their educational background. The detailed qualification and age limit are given below. A student must fulfill the given statements to be part of the process.

Nationality

The student must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualifications:

The INET qualifications depend on the post that a candidate is interested in. It is advised to go through the qualifications based on the job profile.

Following are the qualifications-

  • SSC Naval Armament Inspection Cadre (NAIC) – BE/ B. Tech with a minimum of 60% marks
  • For SSC ATC, SSC Observer, SSC Pilot (MR), and SSC Pilot (Other than MR) – Minimum of 60% marks in 10th and in12th class, minimum of 60% in English. BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • SSC Logistics- Graduate in BE/ B. Tech/MBA in first MBA/MCA/M. Sc IT/Sc/B. Com with PG Diploma in Finance with 60% score
  • SSC X (IT)- BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks
  • For SSC General Service (GS/X)/Hydro Cadre- BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks
  • SSC Engineering Branch (GS)- BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks
  • And for SSC Education- M.Sc (Maths/Operational Research) and B.Sc (Physics) with a minimum 60% score

INET Age Limit

Minimum: 19 years

Maximum: 24 years

  1. The SSC Naval Armament Inspection Cadre (NAIC) has to be born between 2nd January 1996 and 1st July 02, 2001.
  2. Students for the posts of SSC ATC, SSC Observer, SSC Pilot (MR), and SSC Pilot (Other than MR) have to be born between 2nd January 1996 and 1st January 2000.
  3. The posts of SSC Logistics have to be born between 2nd January 1996 and 1st July 2001.
  4. Students for the posts of SSC X (IT) have to be born between 2nd January 1996 and 1st July 2001.
  5. The SSC General Service (GS/X)/Hydro Cadre posts have to be born between 2nd January 1996 and 1st July 2001.
  6. Students for the SSC Engineering Branch (GS) posts have to be born between 2nd January 1996 and 1st July 2001.

INET Exam Pattern

  • The hiring process of INET 2021 consists of three stages namely,
  • Written INET exam
  • SSB Interview and 

Medical Examination

  • The written examination paper is divided into four sections: English, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, General Science and Mathematical Aptitude, and General intelligence. 
  • A total of 100 questions are there in the examination paper. The students need to clear the INET exam to be eligible for an SSB interview.
  • The paper is multiple-choice questions. Each wrong answer will have a negative marking.
  • Every correct answer will give the student four marks. Whereas, each incorrect answer will subtract one mark.
  • Each student needs to score a 40% minimum in each section. They have to qualify in the written examination.
  • Students after clearing the interview will go for a medical exam.
  • The final score will be based on all three levels.
  • Selected students who will qualify in all the sections will be informed through mail or SMS.

INET Exams Syllabus

The online screening test is divided into four sections:

  • English
  • Reasoning
  • Numerical Ability
  • General Science
  • Mathematical Aptitude
  • General intelligence.

This is common with almost all other Government job exams. However, the level of difficulty varies with every post. The examination has four sections. Each has 25 questions and 100 marks.

INET Salary

The salary structure of Indian Navy officers depends upon factors like job profile, position, and level. Other than the salary, the officers enjoy some allowances like flying, submarine, uniform, transport, house rent, insurance, etc.

INET Exam Result

The result of the online written exam will be available within 30 days of the exam. To access the results at each stage, students need to log in to their accounts on the main webpage of the Indian Navy.

The students have to score the minimum qualifying marks in each section to qualify for the final merit list. The students need to log in using their registered email ID and password. After viewing the result for the INET officer, the students can wish to download it for future reference. Once a student has reached this stage, he/she needs to go through document verification, upon which they will be selected for the job.

Q.1 What is INET?

ANS: Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces. Every year, the Indian Navy conducts INET for hiring employees. INET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Navy. The INET exam is one of the best opportunities for students who wish to join the Indian Navy.

Q.2 How many times does the INET exam take in a year?

ANS: The INET examination is conducted twice a year. It is a computer-based written examination and has four sections. Candidates are supposed to pass in all four sections separately. Each candidate has to score a minimum of 40% in each section to qualify.

Q.3 What will be the weightage of the interview round?

ANS: INET exam will have a weightage of 50%, while SSB Interview will hold the remaining weightage.

Q.4 Can I pay the fees in an offline mode?

ANS: No, the payment for the application needs to be done online only, students can either use Debit cards, Credit cards, Internet Banking, or mobile wallets.

Q.5 Can girls join the Indian Navy?

ANS: Yes, girls are qualified to join the Indian Navy for almost all the posts except a few, such as SSC Pilot (other than MR), SSC Observer, SSC ATC, SSC Naval Armament Inspection Cadre.

Q.6 Does the written exam have negative marking?

ANS: Yes, there is a negative marking in the INET exam. The paper will be of multiple-choice questions where each wrong answer will deduct marks. Every correct answer will give the student four marks, while each incorrect answer will subtract one mark. A minimum of 40% is required in each section to qualify.

Q.7 On what basis are students shortlisted for an SSB interview?

ANS: Students are shortlisted based on the marks they have secured in the written INET exam, followed by the rank.

ANS: Students are should have a valid email Id, phone number, 10th, 12th, and Graduation certificates, original mark sheets and qualification certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), Domicile Certificate, NCC certificate (if held), Photo Identity proof, viz. Aadhar Card/ PAN Card/ Voter ID/ Driving License/ Passport and Scanned signature.
