SEBI has published the notification for the post of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager).

Securities and Exchange Board of India is a regulatory body for the Indian securities market located at Bandra-Kurla-Complex in Mumbai. SEBI aims to protect the interests of investors in securities and to promote the development of and regulate the securities market.

SEBI releases notifications for various posts for SEBI Grade A (Assistant Manager). SEBI offers the young aspirants an interesting work domain with challenges to execute its triple functions of the quasi-legislative, quasi-judicial, and quasi-executive body.

SEBI Exam Eligibility Criteria 2022

It is very important to check one’s eligibility criteria before applying for any Examination. Here, the candidates can check their eligibility criteria before applying for any post of the SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager.

Candidates having Indian nationality can apply. Only a Maharashtra domicile can apply for SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager for General Stream.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility: Educational Qualifications

There are six streams for SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager. The educational qualifications for each stream are different. The stream-wise educational qualification is provided here.

Stream Educational Qualification
General Master’s Degree in any discipline, Bachelors’ Degree in Law, Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from a recognized university, CA / CFA /CS /Cost Accountant.
Legal Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized Institute /University.
Information Technology Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical /Electronics /Electronics And Communication /Information Technology/Computer Science) OR Masters in Computers Application OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers/Information Technology.
Engineering Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institute/University.
Research Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) / Commerce / Econometrics /Economics /Statistics from a recognized University/ Institute.
Official Language Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or Master’s Degree in Commerce/ Economics / English /Sanskrit with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level from a recognized Institute/University.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility: Age Limit

The candidate must fulfill the age criteria as per the releasing date of the official notification. Age criteria are as follows:

  • The maximum age limit is 30 years, i.e. the candidate should not be born on or before 01st March 1991.
  • Age relaxation is provided for the reserved categories as per the government norms. See the table below:-

    The person with disabilities(General) 10 years
    The person with disabilities (SC/ST) 15 years

    Domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir from 1st January 1981- 31st December 1982 5 years

SEBI Exam Pattern

There are three stages in this exam. Candidates should clear all the three stages to be qualified to join SEBI. They are

  • Phase-1 Online Screening Test,
  • Phase-2 Online Test,
  • Interview.

SEBI Grade A Phase-1 Online Test

An online screening examination consisting of two papers. There are 100 multiple choice questions for each paper. The exam pattern is:-

SEBI Exam FAQ

Q.1 Is SEBI and RBI syllabus the same?

ANS: 50% of SEBI syllabus has overlap with RBI syllabus. So, if you are preparing for SEBI Grade A, some topics of the RBI Grade B are also covered easily.

Q.2 What is the expected cut-off of SEBI Grade A?

ANS: The expected cut-off will be announced once the exam is conducted. Check the website regularly for updates.

Q.3 How can I check the SEBI Grade A Result or the merit list?

ANS: The Result link will be published on the official website of SEBI. Candidates may follow these steps:

  • Got to the official website of SEBI.
  • Click on the result link, then the ‘career’ tab to choose your respective stream.
  • The list of shortlisted candidates will be available.

Q.4 How to prepare for SEBI Grade A?

ANS: Syllabus, Previous Year Questions, and Basic Book Resource are the prerequisites the candidate should have before starting SEBI Grade A preparation. Understand the syllabus and how they are asked in the Question Paper. Prepare and stick with your strategy.

Q.5 Does SEBI recruit every year?
