The SBI PO Exam (State Bank of India Probationary Officer Exam) is a highly competitive exam conducted by the State Bank of India to recruit candidates for the position of Probationary Officer (PO). The SBI PO exam is typically held in three phases:

Preliminary Exam:

Mode: Online (Computer-based test)

Duration: 1 hour

Sections:

  • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions, 35 marks
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks
  • Total: 100 questions, 100 marks

Main Exam

Mode: Online (Computer-based test)

Duration: 3 hours

Sections:

  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 questions, 60 marks
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 questions, 60 marks
  • General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • English Language: 35 questions, 40 marks
  • Descriptive Test (Letter Writing & Essay): 2 questions, 25 marks
  • Total: 155 questions, 200 marks
  • Descriptive Test: 30 minutes (separate time)

Interview: 

Candidates who clear the Mains exam are eligible for the Interview round.

Maximum Marks: 50 marks

The final selection is based on the combined performance in the Mains exam and Interview.

Negative Marking:

  • For both the Preliminary and Mains exams, there is a penalty of 1/4th mark for each incorrect answer.
